Steve Madden - New Jersey Store Artwork
“Pink Shoe” - Mixed media on wood panel, 2 × 2 feet · 2026 Commissioned for Steve Madden, New Jersey
For a new Steve Madden store in New Jersey, I was commissioned to recreate one of the brand’s original artworks - a piece that had been displayed on a store façade for nearly 30 years. Decades of exposure to time and weather had given the original a distinctive character, with cracked surfaces, peeling paint, faded color, and beautifully aged layer

Recreating this authentic, timeworn appearance became an exciting creative challenge. After weeks of experimenting with different materials, mediums, and techniques, I developed a process that captured the depth, texture, and naturally weathered quality of the original artwork.

This project pushed me beyond my familiar artistic practice and invited me to explore an entirely new way of working. The finished piece preserves the history and character of the original while beginning a new chapter on the façade of the Steve Madden store.
